MY Commitment to You
Coaching Ethics Statement
Practicing with integrity, compassion, and respect for the dignity of every person served.
I am committed to practicing coaching with integrity, compassion, and respect for the dignity of every person I serve. This statement outlines the ethical principles that guide my work.
Client-Centered & Trauma-Informed Practice
Your safety, autonomy, and well-being come first. I work at a pace that honors your nervous system and life circumstances. Coaching is collaborative — you remain the expert on your own life. I will never pressure, push, or pathologize you.
Clear Boundaries Between Coaching and Therapy
I am a professional coach, not a licensed mental health therapist or counselor. Coaching focuses on growth, clarity, skills, values, and forward movement. If clinical mental health treatment is needed, I will discuss this openly and support you in finding appropriate resources. I do not diagnose, treat mental illness, or provide psychotherapy.
Confidentiality
What you share in our sessions remains private. I will not disclose your information to others without your explicit consent, except where required by law (e.g., imminent risk of serious harm to self or others, or legal obligations). I take reasonable steps to protect your privacy in all communication and record-keeping.
Informed Consent & Transparency
Before we begin working together, I will clearly explain the nature and limits of coaching, my approach and methods, session structure, fees, and cancellation policies, and how we will measure progress. You always have the right to ask questions, decline any suggestion, or end the coaching relationship at any time.
Competence & Ongoing Development
I maintain the training, certifications, and self-awareness required to serve you well. I commit to continuing education, supervision or peer consultation when appropriate, and honest self-assessment of my strengths and limitations. When a client's needs fall outside my scope, I will say so and assist with referrals.
Integrity & Honesty
I will be truthful about my background, credentials, experience, and the realistic outcomes of coaching. I will not make guarantees of specific results. I avoid dual relationships or conflicts of interest that could impair my objectivity or your trust.
Non-Discrimination & Cultural Respect
I welcome and respect clients of all backgrounds, identities, faiths, abilities, and life experiences. I strive to create a space free from judgment and grounded in dignity.
Professional Conduct
I conduct myself in a manner that reflects well on the coaching profession. This includes clear communication, reliable scheduling, appropriate boundaries in and outside of sessions, and responsible use of technology and social media.
These principles exist so you can enter the coaching relationship with clarity and confidence. If you ever have questions or concerns about how I am upholding these standards, I invite you to raise them directly with me. Your trust is essential to the work we do together.
You don't have to carry it alone — and you never have to do so without clear ethical safeguards.
